Born and bred in Arusha, he dove into art at a very young age as a way to escape reality; drawing was an escape that kept him grounded. Drawing to him comes first, before anything else. You can always find Nickson drawing unsure of what his creation will produce. To him, being in motion is all that matters with the hopes of things falling into place as time passes by. The internet and Nickson are like peanut butter and jelly; he gets his inspiration from online creators who share their work.
Fun fact, most people think his digital drawings are great, but it is because they have not seen his traditional drawing. He is just as good in conventional sketching as he is in digital. Besides drawing, Nickson says; this helps him to think better and his mind explores different worlds.
Nickson considers himself a student still, always busy experimenting and pushing the envelope to better his talent and skills. Precisely why he feels he doesn't possess a particular style or known to create signature art pieces but he insists that some day he will find his niche.
His typical artistic process starts with inspiration from either a photograph he's seen, a movie he watched, a book or magazine he read and looked at, a client's brief or just from a day to day item that is around him.
Moves on to make tiny sketches on how he intends on executing the idea and that is why he's always carrying his sketchbook with him everywhere.
From there, he moves to photoshop ( the software he uses for all his digital work), where he transfers the sketch but this time with more detail, from there he starts painting one layer after the other,( with loud music on the background) and “ VOILAAAA! That my dear….. is how i create my masterpieces”
